A recall has been issued for Delta-branded gas ball valves due to the potential for gas leakage when the valve is in the open position, posing a risk of fire and burns. Manufactured by Masco Canada Limited and distributed in the United States through Delta Faucet Company, the recall affects around 3,700 units sold nationwide and an additional 18,500 units sold in Canada.

The valves, which are used primarily in laboratories within schools, research facilities, and hospitals, were available through plumbing supply distributors from January 2006 to January 2025. The recalled items are chrome-colored with the word “Delta” on the body and “GAS” printed in white on a blue top. Each affected unit is also marked with “1/2 PSI MAX” and “GAS/GAZ” on the bottom.

Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and contact Masco Canada to determine eligibility for a refund. The company is offering to cover the cost of labor for removal and disposal of the valves. No injuries or incidents have been reported to date, but Masco Canada is proactively reaching out to known purchasers.
