On Friday, Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar accompanied Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in a coordinated warrant operation in the Los Angeles area. The action led to the arrest of Pedro Sainz Minjarez, who was wanted on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and conspiracy. The investigation, which involves cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine trafficking, is being conducted in cooperation with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The HSI Los Angeles Special Response Team executed three state search warrants across La Puente, Pomona, and Compton, California, as part of the operation. These locations were linked to an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking networks in the region.

Following the operation, Deputy Secretary Edgar led a meeting of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) in Los Angeles. The session brought together federal partners to coordinate efforts in addressing crime, with a focus on implementing the administration’s law enforcement priorities. Attendees included officials from HSI Los Angeles, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
