A Scranton man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison following his involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking operation that spanned across Luzerne County and surrounding areas. Corey Wylam, 34, was also ordered to serve four years of supervised release after completing his prison term.

Wylam pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of a methamphetamine mixture between June and July 2021. As part of the operation, Wylam facilitated the transfer of a firearm to another member of the conspiracy in return for methamphetamine and to settle a drug-related debt.

The case was the result of a coordinated investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, along with the Kingston Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney James M. Buchanan.
