The investigation began after a Worcester County resident reported unauthorized purchases made on their credit card totaling $1,600. The purchases occurred on March 2 and March 3, 2025, at a Target store located on Bou Avenue in Rockville. Maryland State Police received the complaint on March 3 and launched an inquiry through the Berlin Barrack.
Detectives with the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division have since acquired surveillance footage showing two individuals leaving the store on the dates the fraudulent purchases were made. The images have been circulated as part of an ongoing effort to identify and locate the suspects.
