On April 18 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a red Toyota pickup truck approached the Brown Field Station checkpoint, where a Border Patrol K-9 alerted agents to the potential presence of hidden people or narcotics. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale. The Drug Enforcement Administration has taken over the case for further investigation. According to the U.S. Border Patrol, this seizure adds to a growing total for the San Diego Sector, which has confiscated over 800 pounds of methamphetamine so far in fiscal year 2025, along with large amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.
