The recall involves black ride-on UTVs with red trim, sold under the Huffy brand name. Measuring 53 inches long, 43 inches wide, and 27 inches tall, these toys feature “Torex” labels on the front and sides. Affected units bear model numbers 17249 and 17310 and were manufactured between June 18, 2019, and April 21, 2022, as indicated by date codes ranging from 16919 to 11122. So far, Huffy has received 20 reports of the toys overheating, smoking, or catching fire, including five cases where users suffered minor burns. The recall notice advises consumers to immediately stop using the UTVs and contact Huffy to arrange a free repair. Customers can choose to use a third-party repair service and will be reimbursed up to $50 for the service.
