A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound early Saturday morning following a confrontation in downtown Chambersburg. Authorities responded to the 100 block of East Washington Street around 2:23 a.m. on April 19, where they discovered a male victim suffering from a leg wound. The injury is believed to be non-life-threatening, and the individual was transported to a trauma center for treatment.

According to investigators, the incident appears to have stemmed from a mutual confrontation between the victim and the alleged shooter prior to the gunfire. Police emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The shooting is being handled as an aggravated assault case, and the investigation remains active.
The Chambersburg Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact them via the Franklin County 911 Center or submit a tip through the department’s online Crimewatch platform. The case, identified under reference ID 2025-03964, is currently classified as a criminal investigation.
