Veterans will receive additional preference points in accordance with local civil service regulations. Notably, applicants do not need to be Act 120 certified to take the exam, though certification or its equivalent will earn candidates an additional ten points during the selection process. The Borough emphasizes that hiring will be based solely on candidates’ ability to perform the duties of a police officer and maintains a non-discriminatory, affirmative action employment policy.
