According to officials, those taken into custody include Cuban nationals previously convicted of elder abuse, methamphetamine trafficking, and oxycodone trafficking, as well as a Guatemalan national with a conviction for DUI resulting in serious bodily injury. All seven individuals were identified as illegal immigrants with extensive criminal records.
The detainees were processed by Border Patrol and transferred into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They remain in detention pending removal proceedings.
