Reckitt Benckiser LLC has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 16,200 bottles of its Woolite Delicates detergent due to potential contamination with Pseudomonas species bacteria, which may pose a health risk to certain individuals. The affected detergent, packaged in 50-fluid-ounce bottles, was sold exclusively on Amazon.com in January 2025 and may present a risk of serious infection for people with weakened immune systems or those using external medical devices.

The recalled detergent may contain Pseudomonas oleovorans, a common environmental bacterium found in soil and water. Though healthy individuals are generally not impacted, the bacteria can pose a threat if it enters the body through the eyes or open skin. While no injuries or illnesses have been reported to date, Reckitt urges consumers to stop using the product immediately. The affected bottles are white with a light pink label and cap and carry SKU number 62338-72724. The lot codes involved in the recall are S24364, S24365, and S24366, which are printed at the top of the back of each bottle.
To receive a refund, customers are instructed to mark the back of the bottle with their name and the word “Recalled” using permanent marker. A photo showing the UPC and lot code must then be emailed to Reckitt at ConsumerCare_USA@reckitt.com. Once the refund is issued, consumers should securely close the bottle and discard it with household trash without attempting to empty or recycle it.
