Over 32,000 Cordless Pool Vacuums Recalled After Multiple Fires Reported

Aiper has issued a recall of its Seagull Pro ZT6001 cordless robotic pool cleaners due to the risk of overheating that could lead to burn or fire hazards. Approximately 32,660 units were sold in the United States, with another 2,530 distributed in Canada, between March 2023 and May 2024. The recall follows multiple reports of the devices melting, smoking, or catching fire while charging.

The affected model, identified by the serial number prefix “S/N 61,” weighs around 24 pounds and has dimensions of 19.5 x 18.5 x 15 inches. The product features a dark gray exterior with the “Aiper” brand name on the top or front and was sold through major retailers including Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart, both in-store and online. The retail price ranged between $700 and $900.

The company has received 19 incident reports involving the recalled vacuums, including five cases that caused property damage. No injuries have been reported. The problem centers on the device’s large current adapter, which can overheat during charging.

Consumers are urged to stop using the product immediately and contact Aiper to receive a replacement. Aiper is offering a free Aiper Scuba S1 robotic pool cleaner in exchange for the returned units and will provide prepaid return labels. All known purchasers are being contacted directly.
