In Sarajevo, Rutte met with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s top officials, including members of the Presidency, the Chair of the Council of Ministers, and key ministers. He underscored the importance of upholding the Dayton Peace Agreement and warned against actions that undermine the country’s constitutional order. He also called on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s political leaders to take responsibility for the nation’s progress, emphasizing that NATO remains committed to its partnership with the country through defense cooperation and security reforms.
During his visit to Pristina, Rutte led a North Atlantic Council delegation to the NATO-led KFOR mission and the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team. Meetings with NATO and EU officials, as well as Kosovo institutions, focused on maintaining security and supporting long-term stability. Rutte highlighted KFOR as NATO’s longest-running and largest mission, emphasizing its role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo. He also reaffirmed NATO’s support for the EU-led dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, urging both sides to make necessary compromises for lasting peace.
