Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Wicomico County and are seeking public assistance in locating a person of interest. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit took over the case after officers discovered a man dead in his Salisbury home on February 22. Investigators believe the shooting occurred earlier that morning.

The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Roy Walters of Salisbury. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene after officers responded to a welfare check at his residence on Parsons Road. Upon arrival, police found Walters unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators are searching for Jabril Roynell Walters, 31, of Princess Anne, who is the son of the deceased. Jabril Walters has an outstanding warrant for a separate first-degree assault case from July 2024. Authorities believe he may have information relevant to the investigation. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with knowledge of Jabril Walters’ whereabouts or any details related to the shooting to contact Sergeant Joe Meier at 443-515-0034. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue gathering evidence and seeking leads.
