Firefighters from the Shaft Fire Department and nearby units responded to a blaze at 11205 Upper Georges Creek Road in Frostburg on October 13, 2024. A passerby had reported smoke coming from the residence around 1:15 p.m. Crews worked for nearly ten minutes to bring the fire under control. Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal determined the fire was intentionally set, citing evidence of multiple ignition points throughout the home.

Authorities linked Hutcheson to the property before the fire, leading to her indictment with assistance from the Allegany County State’s Attorney’s Office. She was taken into custody and is being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
