The recall affects John Deere models Z720E, Z730M, Z740R, and Z760R equipped with Kawasaki engines. These mowers, distinguished by their green and yellow color scheme and the “John Deere” logo below the seat, were sold nationwide through authorized dealers from October 2018 to September 2024, priced between $8,000 and $11,500. Serial numbers for the affected units can be found on the right side near the rear tire.
Consumers are advised to immediately cease using the recalled mowers and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a complimentary repair. Both Kawasaki and John Deere are proactively reaching out to known purchasers to facilitate the repair process. For further information, Deere & Company can be contacted at 800-537-8233, and Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA at 866-836-4463.
