BOONSBORO, MD News (8/13/2024) – The meeting, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, August 21st at 6:00 PM, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled at this time. According to Washington County Government, the proposed building will no longer proceed at the Agricultural Education Center.

The Washington County Agricultural Education Center has announced a public information meeting to discuss the proposed Agricultural Education Center Multipurpose Indoor Building. This meeting is set for Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM. It will take place at the Washington County Agriculture Education Center Multipurpose Building, located at 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713.

Originally scheduled for April 17, 2024, this rescheduled meeting follows a comprehensive project evaluation and the proposal of a new site location. Attendees will be provided with a project overview, followed by breakout sessions with project team members. This format aims to facilitate detailed discussions and feedback on the latest concepts for the new building.
During the meeting, various materials will be available to offer insights into the proposed project. These include floor plans, renderings, and site concept plans. Although the overall concept of the building has been established, the design of individual building elements remains in development. This meeting serves as an ideal opportunity for community members to share their input and influence the project’s final design.

The new Multipurpose Indoor Building aims to enhance the Agriculture Center’s capacity to host a variety of events and activities throughout the year. It will be equipped to accommodate special events, agriculture and animal shows, and recreational activities, thereby significantly expanding the center’s functionality and service to the community.
