BOONSBORO, MD News (2/18/2023) – Here at Radio Free Hub City, we try to provide fair and balanced news coverage whenever possible. Shortly after publishing this article, we were contacted by a representative of Dan’s Tap House and an interview is pending scheduling. We’re still looking for genuine customer feedback regarding Dan’s, so if you’d like to go on the record regarding your experience at Dan’s in Boonsboro, please feel free to email us.

In addition to stopping by Dan’s and attempting to interview the manager Mike Skinner, RFHC has sent multiple emails to the contact information listed on Dan’s Tap House website. These emails have gone unanswered. We also left our contact information at Dan’s with a request for someone to reach out to us, but that too went unanswered. For full transparency, we’re republishing our emails we have sent to Dan’s Tap House.

Press Inquiry: Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit

Hello!

I’m the owner of Radio Free Hub City, a local media outlet for the Washington County area. I’m also a long-time Boonsboro resident and big fan of your burgers.

We’re in the process of working on a follow-up to the OAN story regarding the Federal civil rights lawsuit filed by Neal Glessner. We’d like to get both sides of the story, and were hoping that someone could be available Monday evening to discuss? We have an interview with Mr. Glessner that evening and would love to come get your side of the story immediately after.

Please let us know your availability.

Re: Press Inquiry: Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit

Hello,

We tried to stop in yesterday and talk with your manager Mike Skinner, but were told he had left earlier in the day.

We’d love to speak with someone from Dan’s to get your side of this story.

Please let us know.

Re: Press Inquiry: Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit

Hello,

Yesterday we published our article with the publicly available information regarding this incident and an interview with Neal Glessner.

We’d love to do a follow-up interview with a representative from Dan’s Taphouse or your attorney.

Please let us know. We try to provide as fair and balanced news coverage as possible.

Several customers of Dan’s have reached out to us in support of Dan’s, claiming that they’ve never seen any incidents involving discrimination. However, these customers will not allow us to use their names or stories due to fears of retaliation. As such, we’re unable to publish their comments.

There are of course rumors regarding alternative reasons why Mr. Glessner and Judge Michael were banned from Dan’s, but until these reasons are actually communicated to us on the record by a representative of Dan’s Tap House, we can’t report them.

We are in the process of trying to schedule an interview with Dan’s Tap House to try and get their side of the story. But unfortunately, until that interview happens, we simply have nothing on their side that we can actually publish.

After publishing this article, Dan’s Tap House reached out to us regarding a statement and/or interview. We are still trying to organize a day/time to conduct an interview.

In the meantime, co-owner Charlotte Aufdem-Brinke has issued her own statement, which can be viewed on social media. In the statement, Aufdem-Brinke states that “Mr. Glessner was asked to leave our restaurant due to repeated occurrences of disruptive behavior against members of our team. Nothing more. Nothing less.”

Dan’s Tap House has issued a statement on 2/28/2023 which is available here.
