Hagerstown Masons Working with Local Charity to Feed Those in Need

HAGERSTOWN, MD News (9/15/2022) – From now until November 1, 2022, the Washington County Maryland Masons AF & AM Charity Drive has partnered with the local charity It’s a Blessing to be a Blessing to provide food to needy families. Drop off boxes are available at 11227 Pipe Lane and 70 E. Washington Street in Hagerstown, MD. An additional drop off location is available at 304 W. Patrick Street in Frederick, MD.

Local residents are encouraged to drop off non-expired, non-perishable items such as canned goods, boxed macaroni and hamburger helper, shelf-stable milk, instant mashed potatoes, rice, crackers, pancake mix, condiments, or cooking oil, just to name a few.

The goal of the Washington County Maryland Masons AF & AM Charity Drive is to partner with other local Non-profit Organizations to conduct charity drives. Through these charity drives, they hope to demonstrate the 3 Core Principles of Freemasonry: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, and make a positive impact on the community.

It’s a Blessing to be a Blessing seeks to nourish our neighbors at the most fundamental level with access to hot, delicious food options, a strong support network, and referrals to other resources including healthcare, housing and social assistance, job search and training resources, and transportation. The organization currently serves over 500 people per month.
