NORTH AMERICAN AEROSPACE DEFENSE COMMAND (NORAD) fighter jets successfully intercepted a general aviation aircraft that entered a temporary flight restriction zone over Thurmont, Maryland, on September 19, 2026. The incident, which occurred around 7:50 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, involved F-16 fighter aircraft operating under the command of the Continental U.S. NORAD Region (CONR) at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.
