Baltimore Man Sentenced to Over Eight Years for Drug Trafficking and Gun Charges

A Baltimore man has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison for his involvement in drug trafficking and firearm possession, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland. Davon Taylor, 35, received a sentence of 97 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. The charges stem from an investigation into local drug trafficking activities, and Taylor also acknowledged that his actions violated the terms of his existing federal supervised release.

The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes, in conjunction with Special Agent in Charge Charles Doerrer of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Commissioner Richard Worley of the Baltimore Police Department (BPD). According to details presented in court, law enforcement officials were monitoring a parking lot in Northwest Baltimore, known locally as “the panyard,” on April 9, 2025. During their surveillance, agents observed Taylor engaging in direct exchanges of substances before removing an item from his waistband. He then placed this item into a pizza box, which he left on a recycling bin.

Following Taylor’s arrest, agents recovered a loaded handgun with a 12-round magazine. The firearm was reported stolen in May 2022. A subsequent search of the area yielded a bag containing numerous vials and jugs filled with fentanyl, cocaine, and cocaine base, alongside a digital scale indicating the presence of drug residue. Additionally, law enforcement confiscated $1,549 in cash.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a national initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at reducing violent crime.
