A fire that erupted Wednesday morning in Big Pool, Washington County, has resulted in an estimated $150,000 in damages to a one-story modular home, according to an investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The incident, which occurred at 10049 National Pike, was reported at approximately 11:07 am and required the response of 63 firefighters from multiple departments.

The blaze, which was classified as accidental, originated in the ceiling of a bedroom within the structure. The Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company was the primary responding agency, with firefighters working for approximately 20 minutes to bring the flames under control. A passerby discovered the fire and alerted authorities. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident, and no individuals were displaced from their homes. The estimated loss includes $125,000 in damages to the structure itself and an additional $25,000 in losses to its contents. The status of smoke alarms within the home was reported as unknown.
