FBI Foils Alleged Explosive Drone Plot Against UFC Event in D.C.

Washington D.C. – Federal law enforcement officials, in a multi-state operation, have apprehended multiple individuals in connection with an alleged plot to attack the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. The FBI announced that the operation, which involved collaboration with numerous law enforcement partners and the Department of Justice, successfully disrupted a potential threat involving individuals from outside the National Capital Region.

According to information released by the FBI, the investigation was initiated on June 10th, when authorities became aware of the potential threat. The alleged plan involved the use of explosive-laden drones and was reportedly discussed among at least 23 individuals through encrypted communication channels using the app Signal. These individuals were allegedly engaged in pre-operational activities related to the planned attacks. The swift actions of the FBI and its partners are credited with preventing any potential harm to the public during the large-scale event, which was described as historic.
