The fire was first reported shortly before 8:00 a.m. on May 10, 2026, in the rear lot of 1812 Pulaski Highway, an area adjacent to Trident Automotive. Responding firefighters from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and APG Fire Department worked for approximately 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Investigators found that the fire originated within the interior passenger compartment of a small bus. Evidence collected at the scene led investigators to conclude that the fire was incendiary in nature, caused by juveniles intentionally igniting materials inside the bus. The fire then spread to and damaged four other vehicles parked nearby.
The swift apprehension of those involved was facilitated by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were in the vicinity when the fire was reported and observed a significant column of black smoke emanating from the location. Their attention was further drawn to one of the juveniles fleeing the scene, which directly contributed to the quick identification and subsequent apprehension of the individuals.
The two charged juveniles have been referred to the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services. They face charges related to arson and malicious burning. The investigation remains ongoing, with charges pending for a third juvenile. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the vehicle fire.
