The “Train Like a Trooper” challenge is a three-mile obstacle run across varied terrain, conceived and developed by experienced Maryland State Police instructors. It aims to simulate the demanding physical requirements of becoming a trooper and serving in law enforcement. The event is open to all individuals aged 18 and over who possess a valid photo identification. Participants are required to check in between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. to be eligible. Free parking will be available at the venue.
This initiative provides a unique opportunity for participants to challenge their personal fitness goals, engage in friendly competition, and gain insight into the day-to-day life and responsibilities of Maryland State Police officers. Recruiters will also be present to offer information on career paths within the agency and answer questions from interested individuals. The challenge is presented as a potential starting point for those considering a career as a Maryland State Trooper, encouraging them to transform their dedication to fitness into a public service role. Friends and family are welcome to attend and support the participants. Due to limited capacity, interested individuals are urged to register in advance. Registration can be completed by scanning a QR code found on the event flyer or by visiting a provided online ticketing portal.
