According to information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, White and her brother, Henry A. White, Jr., who was previously sentenced, collaborated to illicitly obtain more than $1.2 million. The operation, which spanned roughly a decade from 2013 to 2022, involved Henry White submitting fraudulent claims for unclaimed property. He used the names of corporate entities with which he had no affiliation or legal authority. State treasuries, misled by sworn certifications provided by Henry White, issued payment checks. These checks were typically sent via U.S. mail to the shared residence of both Patricia and Henry White in Connecticut.

Upon receiving the fraudulently obtained funds, the siblings deposited and cashed the checks into a joint bank account. These funds were then used for personal expenditures, including mortgage payments on their jointly owned home. Patricia White acknowledged during her guilty plea that she personally handled the deposit of some of these fraudulent checks. Her brother, Henry White, received a sentence of 37 months imprisonment on December 17, 2025, and was also ordered to pay the substantial restitution amount. Patricia White is scheduled to report to the Bureau of Prisons on May 8, 2026. The investigation into this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ravi Romel Sharma overseeing the prosecution.
