Approximately 25,000 “nvyue Magic Pocket Staffs” have been recalled due to serious projectile and laceration hazards, as announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalled products, imported by Xingwenfeng, are designed to rapidly expand from a compressed cylinder to their full length, but a faulty protective pin mechanism can allow for unintentional and sudden deployment. This rapid expansion occurs too quickly for users to react, leaving them with virtually no opportunity for self-protection.

The recalled nvyue Magic Pocket Staffs were available for purchase in gold, silver, or black, and in extended lengths of 110 cm or 150 cm. Consumers have reported that the protective pin, intended to secure the staff in its compressed state, is often not fully engaged upon receipt, increasing the inherent risk of sudden and unexpected expansion. The products were sold online exclusively through Amazon.com between September 2020 and March 2026, with prices ranging from $8 to $26.
The CPSC has documented 163 incident reports involving injuries to the eyes, face, and hands as a result of the Magic Pocket Staffs’ unpredictable expansion. These reported injuries include corneal lacerations and temporary vision loss, with some individuals requiring stitches. Disturbingly, many of these incidents have involved children as young as nine years old.
Consumers who own these nvyue Magic Pocket Staffs are strongly advised to cease using the product immediately. To receive a full refund, customers must contact Xingwenfeng via email at nvyue_recall@163.com. As part of the refund process, consumers will be instructed to mark the Magic Pocket Staff by writing their initials and the current date with a permanent marker and then submitting a photograph of the marked item to the provided email address. Following these steps, consumers will be given further instructions on how to safely expand the product before its disposal. It is imperative that these hazardous items are not sold or given to others.
The recall number for this product is 26-409.
