According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), approximately 380 Bettina Doll Sets with Magic Light Unicorn have been recalled due to a serious risk of injury or death. The recall specifically addresses a violation of mandatory toy safety standards, stemming from the design of the unicorn’s battery compartment. This compartment can be easily opened by children, exposing them to button cell batteries, which pose a significant danger if swallowed.

The CPSC has warned that ingested button cell or coin batteries can lead to severe internal chemical burns and, in the most tragic circumstances, death. The affected product, the Bettina Doll Set with Magic Light Unicorn, features a white unicorn with multi-colored hair and a pink saddle, along with a doll wearing a pink dress. The unicorn measures 10 inches long and 9.5 inches tall, while the doll stands 12 inches tall. A pink toy hairbrush is also included in the set. These doll sets were available for purchase on Amazon between August 2025 and September 2025 for approximately $28. The product was manufactured in China and imported by Shantou Chenghai Xingzigu Toy Industry Co., Ltd. While no injuries have been reported in connection with this recall, consumers are urged to take immediate action to ensure child safety.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Bettina Doll Set with Magic Light Unicorn are instructed to immediately remove the toy from children’s access and cease its use. It is crucial to remove the batteries from the unicorn and dispose of them properly, following local hazardous waste procedures for button cell batteries. To receive a full refund, consumers must discard the unicorn and submit a photograph of the disposed product to bettinaftersales@outlook.com.
