The product in question is Morovan brand Gel Nail Polish Remover, sold in 15ml square turquoise bottles with white caps and accompanied by a green packaging box. Approximately 4,000 units are affected by this recall. Methylene chloride is of particular concern as it has been shown to cause cancer in animal studies and is considered harmful to human health. FDA regulations strictly prohibit its use in cosmetics at any level. Chloroform, also detected in the product, is another hazardous substance not permitted in cosmetic formulations.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Morovan Gel Nail Polish Remover are advised to immediately cease using the product. They should then clearly mark the product bottle and its outer packaging with the word “Recalled” in a visible location. The entire product, including the bottle and any remaining contents, should be safely disposed of in regular household waste, following local waste disposal regulations.
To receive a refund, consumers are required to take a photograph of the discarded product, ensuring that the “Recalled” label and the product itself are clearly visible. This image must then be submitted via email to the customer service team at customer-service@morovan.com for verification. The product was sold on Amazon.com between August 2025 and January 2026. The recalled nail polish remover was manufactured in China by HONGKONG YIIXIN TRADING LIMITED and distributed by Nails Studio. The recalled product has a manufacturing date of February 7, 2024, and an expiration date of February 7, 2027. No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this product.
