The hazard stems from the truck’s circuit board, which can overheat and ignite, posing a serious risk of fire and burns to users. Shenzhen Luobei Trading Co. has received 11 reports detailing incidents of these ride-on trucks catching fire, sparking, burning, melting, overheating, and smoking. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with these incidents.
Consumers who have purchased these ride-on trucks are strongly advised to immediately stop using the product and disconnect it if it is currently charging. To receive a full refund, customers must contact Shenzhen Luobei Trading Co. for specific instructions. This process requires disabling the ride-on truck by cutting the wires to the battery. A photograph of the cut wires, along with the word “VOID,” the consumer’s name, and the date written in permanent marker on the hood of the truck, must be submitted to complete the refund process. Detailed instructions for disassembling and disabling the truck can be found on the company’s website. Consumers are also reminded that the lead-acid battery from the truck should not be disposed of in regular trash or recycling bins. Instead, it should be taken to a municipal household hazardous waste collection center or a battery recycling box located at various retail and home improvement stores.
