According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Ramsee Munoz, a 35-year-old resident of Reading, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of possessing contraband while incarcerated. The indictment stems from an incident that occurred on September 18, 2025, within Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Federal prosecutors allege that Munoz, who is an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Schuylkill, was in possession of a weapon. This weapon is described as a metal object measuring 6 and 1/3 inches in length, with both sides sharpened, and one edge serrated. The investigation into this matter was conducted jointly by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney James M. Buchanan is overseeing the prosecution of the case. If convicted, Munoz faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment, followed by a period of supervised release, and a fine. The ultimate sentence will be determined by a judge, taking into account federal sentencing statutes and guidelines. It is important to note that indictments are formal accusations, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
