Primativa Soto-Martinez, a 35-year-old resident of New York, faces charges of providing contraband to an inmate. Simultaneously, Forrest Gilmore, aged 30, who is incarcerated in the federal system, has been charged with possession of contraband as an inmate. The indictment alleges that on or around July 6, 2025, Soto-Martinez is accused of providing, or attempting to provide, Gilmore with two bundles containing buprenorphine, identified as a Schedule III controlled substance. The investigation into this matter was a collaborative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Service. Assistant United States Attorney Tatum R. Wilson is leading the prosecution.

If convicted, both Soto-Martinez and Gilmore face a maximum penalty of five years of imprisonment, followed by a period of supervised release, and a fine. The final sentence will be determined by a judge, taking into account applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. It is important to note that indictments contain accusations, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
