The Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department is preparing to host its 34th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ida Lee Park. The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., will offer a festive experience for young residents. This year, the department is implementing a pre-registration system to manage attendance and ensure a smooth process for all participants.

Children between the ages of 1 and 8 are invited to take part in the egg hunt, which will take place within a specially designated area at Ida Lee Park. To streamline the collection of eggs, each participating child will be provided with a bag. The use of personal baskets for collecting eggs will not be permitted. Following the conclusion of the egg hunt, all young attendees will be given a special treat bag. Additionally, children will have the chance to meet and take photographs with the Easter Bunny.

This year’s event requires advance registration for all participants, with no on-site registration available. The registration period will open on Tuesday, March 10, and will continue through Friday, March 27. The fee for each child to participate is $10. Entry to the event will be staggered based on the specific time slot for which each child is registered. This staggered entry system is designed to manage crowd flow and enhance the overall experience. Further details and the online registration portal can be accessed via the Ida Lee Park website at http://www.idalee.org. For those preferring to register by phone or inquire about the event, the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center can be reached at 703-777-1368. The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to proceed regardless of weather conditions. Parking for the event will be available in the front fields located off North King Street, which is also known as Business Route 15.
