A Lebanon, Pennsylvania resident has been sentenced to 96 months in federal prison for his involvement in the possession of machine guns and a conspiracy to manufacture and sell firearms without a license. Luis Rosa-Hernandez, originally from the Dominican Republic, was also found guilty of possessing machine gun conversion devices and engaging in a scheme to manufacture and sell firearms illegally.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Rosa-Hernandez’s illegal activities took place between June and November of 2022. During this period, he is reported to have sold 31 machine gun conversion devices, which are parts designed to convert a standard firearm into a machine gun. In addition to these devices, he also sold two stolen handguns, with knowledge that the recipients intended to use them unlawfully. Following the completion of his prison sentence, Rosa-Hernandez faces deportation proceedings. This prosecution is part of a broader federal initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and violent crime. The investigation into Rosa-Hernandez’s activities was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Pennsylvania State Police.
