The case originated on July 8, 2024, when officers from the Scranton Police Department initiated a traffic stop involving a vehicle in which House was a passenger. Upon the stop, House fled the scene on foot and was subsequently apprehended hiding beneath a porch. A search conducted incident to his arrest revealed marijuana packaged for distribution on his person. Further investigation uncovered an additional 30 grams of marijuana and a 9mm Glock handgun, identified as a Glock 7, within a backpack belonging to House. This firearm was notably equipped with a device that allowed it to be converted from a semi-automatic weapon to a fully automatic one. The weapon was also found to have an extended magazine loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition. The investigation into the matter was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Scranton Police Department.

This sentencing underscores the federal government’s commitment to prosecuting individuals involved in both drug trafficking and the illegal possession of high-capacity and convertible firearms. Residents in communities facing issues with drug-related crime and illegal firearms can expect continued enforcement actions aimed at improving public safety.
