According to court documents, Hall engaged in a scheme that involved conducting financial transactions to overpay herself through reimbursements and commissions to which she was not entitled. Additionally, she wrote checks to herself without proper authorization and created fraudulent invoices that resulted in unauthorized payments for her personal financial gain. As part of her plea agreement, Hall has committed to repaying $258,143.51 in restitution to her former employer. She now faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, with the final determination of her sentence to be made by a federal district court judge, who will consider sentencing guidelines and other legal factors. The case was investigated by the FBI and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Eleanor Hurney prosecuting the matter for the government. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble oversaw the proceedings.
