The recalled products are Academy Sports + Outdoors’ Magellan-branded Odyssey Rocker Chairs. These folding chairs, designed with a metal frame, mesh backrest, carrying handle, and a built-in drink holder, were available in charcoal, navy, olive green, and teal. The Magellan Outdoors logo is printed on the front of the backrest. Consumers can identify the affected chairs by locating a tracking label sewn onto the seat of the chair. This label will bear the markings “ACADEMY, LTD,” “177296,” and the specific manufacture date in MM/YYYY format, which should read 07/2025 or 08/2025. It is important to note that only chairs manufactured within this two-month period are included in this recall.

Academy Sports + Outdoors has received one report detailing the breakage of the chair’s legs. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with this issue. To address the hazard, consumers are instructed to immediately discontinue use of the recalled chairs. The company is offering a full refund for the product. Customers can return the chairs to any Academy Sports + Outdoors store for their refund. Alternatively, consumers can contact Academy’s Customer Care to arrange for a prepaid mail return of the chair at no cost.

The chairs were imported by Academy Ltd., operating as Academy Sports + Outdoors, based in Katy, Texas, and were manufactured in Cambodia. This recall, identified by number 26-202, highlights the ongoing efforts by the CPSC to ensure consumer product safety and prevent potential harm. Consumers seeking further information or assistance can reach Academy Sports + Outdoors toll-free at 888-922-2336 between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Central Time.
