Frederick, MD – The U.S. Army Medical Logistics Command (AMLC) and its affiliated units are continuing to achieve notable recognition for their robust safety and occupational health programs. Most recently, AMLC headquarters received the Army’s Safety Excellence Streamer at the brigade level, signifying a commitment to preventing severe incidents.

This award is presented to organizations that operate for 12 consecutive months without an Army Class A or B mishap. These types of incidents are typically characterized by fatalities, multiple serious injuries, or substantial financial losses. The Safety Excellence Streamer is a green ribbon adorned with two white stripes and embroidered text reading “SAFETY EXCELLENCE.” This recognition underscores a command-wide dedication to a proactive safety culture where personnel are encouraged to take personal responsibility for occupational health.

AMLC, a key subordinate command to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, plays a critical role in providing integrated medical logistics support that is essential for the readiness of Army and Joint Forces, extending from strategic operations to tactical deployments.

The emphasis on safety extends to AMLC’s direct reporting units. The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center-Korea (USAMMC-K) was previously honored with its own safety streamer at the battalion level in April 2025. Similarly, the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center-Europe (USAMMC-E) was designated an “Army SOH Star” site in July 2024. This designation highlights the comprehensive implementation of programs and protective measures aligned with the Army Safety and Occupational Health Management System (ASOHMS).

Safety is a fundamental principle that guides operations across all AMLC-managed facilities worldwide. This includes its three Medical Maintenance Operations Divisions (MMODs) located in Pennsylvania, Utah, and California, as well as medical assets strategically positioned at Army Prepositioned Stocks sites. The command actively promotes its safety awards program and encourages supervisors to identify and acknowledge personnel who contribute positively to safety initiatives.
