Franklin County Commissioners have honored Stacey Parson, a probation officer with the county’s adult probation department, as their December Employee of the Month. Parson, who has been a county employee since May 2001, was recognized for her extensive experience, leadership, and dedication to public service. The selection process involved the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which reviewed eleven nominations for the December award. Parson received three of these nominations, highlighting her significant contributions to the adult probation department and the broader court system. Colleagues and superiors alike pointed to her deep knowledge, consistent willingness to assist others, and her integral role in the department’s operations.
Parson has recently taken on a senior court officer role, where she has been instrumental in training new staff. Her approach to training emphasizes patience, consistency, and professionalism, ensuring new officers are thoroughly educated on court procedures, sentencing practices, and judicial expectations. This leadership has reportedly minimized disruptions within court operations, particularly during recent staff vacancies, by helping new team members gain confidence quickly.
