The alleged assault took place on November 30, 2025, following an investigation that led to an arrest for immigration offenses. The indictment outlines two counts of assaulting a federal officer. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Geoffrey W. MacArthur and was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations. This prosecution is part of “Operation Take Back America,” a national initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. This operation integrates resources from “Project Safe Neighborhood.”
If convicted, Harris faces a maximum penalty of eight years in federal prison, followed by a term of supervised release, and a fine. The final sentence will be determined by a judge, considering federal sentencing statutes and guidelines. It is important to note that indictments contain allegations, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
