Mondelēz Global LLC has initiated a voluntary recall of 70 cases of RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches. This recall, announced on November 28, 2025, and published by the FDA on December 2, 2025, is specifically for a single stock-keeping unit (SKU) and two specific code dates previously recalled in July. The company emphasized that this action is not an expansion of the prior recall but is being undertaken out of an abundance of caution.

The recalled product involves individually wrapped packs of RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches that may be mislabeled. While the outer packaging correctly identifies the product as containing peanuts, the inner packs could be mistakenly labeled as the Cheese variety. Consumers with a peanut allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts face a risk of serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the mislabeled product. Importantly, all outer cartons of the affected product are properly labeled with an allergen advisory statement indicating the presence of peanuts.
The voluntary recall is exclusively for RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich cartons with specific “Best When Used By” dates and an “AE” plant code, located on the top of the package. The affected product is the 27.6 oz. RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches, which contain 20 individually wrapped 6-pack cartons (20 x 1.38-oz.). The UPC for this product is 44000 07584 2. The “Best When Used By” dates in question are January 8, 2026, and January 15, 2026. Cartons containing only RITZ Cheese Cracker Sandwiches are not affected, nor are RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches or RITZ Filled Cracker Sandwich Variety Packs with different “Best When Used By” dates or plant codes.
This recall is limited to products sold at a select number of retail locations across eight states: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Mondelēz Global LLC has stated that there have been no reports of injury or illness associated with this product to date. The company discovered that 70 cases were inadvertently shipped to these retailers, prompting the recall and the implementation of corrective actions. Consumers who possess a peanut allergy are strongly advised not to consume the affected product and to discard it immediately. For further assistance or information, consumers can contact Mondelēz Global LLC at 1-844-366-1171, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Time. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is aware of this recall.
