The CPSC has formally issued a Notice of Violation to Wenzhou Zhongbang Smoking Set Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which operates under the name Jobon Official Store and is based in China. Despite the violation notice, Jobon Official Store has not agreed to initiate a recall or provide any form of remedy to consumers who may have purchased these lighters. Approximately 13,000 of these lighters were reportedly sold in the United States through online platforms such as Amazon.com, with an additional roughly 150 units sold via Alibaba.com. These sales occurred between April 2021 and September 2025, with a retail price point of around $20 per lighter. The specific models of concern are described as having a gray/brown color combination, featuring a side ignition trigger and a hands-free operation lock. The brand name “JOBON” is printed on the side of the lighters. The CPSC also noted that similar lighters may have been sold in gold/black color schemes and camouflage patterns. Consumers are strongly advised to stop using these lighters without delay and to dispose of them responsibly according to local regulations. Furthermore, the CPSC prohibits the sale or gifting of these hazardous lighters. Individuals who have experienced an injury or a product defect related to these lighters are encouraged to report the incident on the SaferProducts.gov website.
