Moore was found to be a leader in a drug trafficking ring responsible for bringing kilogram quantities of methamphetamine into York, Pennsylvania. Evidence presented during the proceedings indicated that payments to drug suppliers were facilitated through international wire transfers to Mexico. Moore had previously pleaded guilty to charges stemming from undercover operations in April and May of 2021, during which law enforcement officials conducted controlled purchases of heroin and fentanyl from him. He was also implicated in arranging the shipment of a package containing five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, which was intercepted by police on June 5, 2021.

In determining the sentence, Judge Wilson took into account Moore’s extensive criminal history, which dates back to his younger years, and his repeated violations of parole. At the time of his offenses, Moore was under state parole supervision. The federal sentence of 186 months will be served consecutively to any penalties imposed for his parole violations. This case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the York City Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Consiglio leading the prosecution. The initiative aims to combat the widespread use and distribution of heroin within the Middle District of Pennsylvania, involving coordinated efforts from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. This effort is part of Operation Take Back America, a broader Department of Justice initiative focused on dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations and combating violent crime.
