The first recall, NHTSA Recall Number 25V792, involves 1,887 vehicles across six models: the 2024 THOR MOTOR COACH TWIST, 2023-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH DAZZLE, 2023-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH SCOPE, 2023-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH RIZE, 2023-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH SEQUENCE, and 2022-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH TELLARO. This recall is prompted by the discovery of insufficient adhesive used in the installation of solar panels, which could lead to the panels becoming loose and detaching from the vehicle’s roof. The production dates for these affected vehicles range from March 24, 2021, to March 4, 2024, depending on the specific model.
The second recall, NHTSA Recall Number 25V791, impacts a larger group of 4,491 vehicles. This recall covers several Thor Motor Coach models including the 2023-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH TWIST, 2023-2023 THOR MOTOR COACH TRANQUILITY, 2022-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH TELLARO, 2022-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH SEQUENCE, 2023-2023 THOR MOTOR COACH SANCTUARY, 2024-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH FREEDOM ELITE VAN, and 2023-2024 THOR MOTOR COACH DAZZLE. In these vehicles, the issue stems from potentially loose or broken solar panel mount brackets, which could also result in the solar panel detaching from the roof. The production periods for these affected RVs span from March 24, 2021, to March 28, 2024.
In both recall scenarios, the primary safety risk identified is the potential for a detached solar panel to become a road hazard, thereby increasing the likelihood of a crash and posing a risk of personal injury. Owners of the affected vehicles are advised not to drive them and to park them outside until the necessary repairs can be performed. Thor Motor Coach plans to begin notifying dealers on January 12, 2026, with a phased recall for owners commencing on the same date. The company has a general reimbursement plan on file for consumers who may have incurred costs related to this issue. Information on specific vehicle identification numbers (VINs) will become searchable on a later date.
Owners of Thor Motor Coach RVs who believe their vehicle may be affected by these recalls should contact Thor Motor Coach customer service for further instructions on how to schedule the necessary repair.
