Linda O’Day was found deceased at her residence, located at 129 East Third Street in New Castle, Delaware. The scene, discovered around 2:00 p.m. on that June afternoon, pointed to a violent crime. The medical examiner later determined the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest, indicative of a forceful and personal attack. The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the specific details of her death, have been meticulously documented by investigators, yet the identity of the perpetrator and the motive behind the killing remain elusive.
The FBI has compiled significant details regarding O’Day’s life and the immediate aftermath of her discovery. While it is believed that Henry Lee Lucas, also known as “The Confession Killer”, may have been involved, to date the FBI has not solved the O’Day case.
