News that should be satire – the following is written about real events, but with a heavy dose of sarcasm and wit.
In a development that sounds like it was ripped from the pages of a particularly dark and twisted B-movie, two young men from North Texas are now facing serious federal charges stemming from an alleged conspiracy to launch an invasion of an island off the coast of Haiti with the intent to subjugate its female population as sex slaves after murdering all the male inhabitants. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas, Gavin Rivers Weisenburg, 21, of Allen, and Tanner Christopher Thomas, 20, of Argyle, have been indicted by a federal grand jury on counts that paint a disturbingly ambitious, albeit depraved, picture.

The alleged plot, which reportedly spanned from August 2024 to July 2025, details a frankly outlandish plan to acquire a sailboat, weaponry, and ammunition. The duo allegedly sought to recruit individuals from the homeless population in the Washington D.C. area to serve as their private army for this ambitious coup d’état. Their alleged motivations, as presented in court documents, were disturbingly focused on fulfilling “rape fantasies” and the systematic murder of men on the island to achieve their ultimate goal of enslaving women and children. In furtherance of these peculiar aspirations, Weisenburg and Thomas reportedly engaged in various preparatory actions, including meticulously planning logistics, dedicating time to learning Haitian Creole, actively recruiting accomplices, and even enrolling in educational programs to hone skills deemed necessary for their alleged invasion. Adding another layer of alarming intent, it’s reported that Thomas even enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, presumably to gain military expertise that would aid in their outlandish endeavor.
Beyond the international intrigue, the indictment also includes a separate charge related to the production of child pornography, indicating a disturbing and multifaceted criminal enterprise. If convicted of the conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country, Weisenburg and Thomas could face a maximum sentence of life in federal prison. The child pornography charges carry a potential penalty of 15 to 30 years in federal prison. This complex case is currently being investigated by a joint effort involving the FBI, the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and the Celina Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Locker leading the prosecution. It is, of course, crucial to remember that a grand jury indictment is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
This bizarre case serves as a stark reminder that the pursuit of criminal enterprises can manifest in remarkably audacious and horrifying ways, reaching across international borders and touching upon profoundly disturbing illegal activities.
