According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Wilteexs brand bioethanol fuel bottles are being recalled due to a significant risk of flash fire, which could lead to serious injury or death. The recall affects approximately 1,100 units of the clear, 1.06-quart (1-liter) bottles, which are pre-filled with bioethanol fuel intended for use in tabletop fire pits, fireplaces, stoves, and burners.

The primary safety concern stems from the bottles’ failure to comply with mandatory federal standards for portable fuel containers. Specifically, these bottles lack the required flame mitigation devices, a crucial component mandated by the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act. Without these devices, the risk of a dangerous flash fire significantly increases when the fuel is used. Furthermore, the product violates the Federal Hazardous Substances Act because it falsely claims the contents are “Non Toxic,” which is a deceptive disclaimer.
Consumers who have purchased these recalled Wilteexs bioethanol fuel bottles are strongly advised to immediately cease using them. The bottles should be placed out of the reach of children. To receive a full refund, consumers must contact Wilteexs by emailing hongyaodemg@outlook.com. As part of the refund process, customers will be instructed to write “Do not use” and their Amazon order number on the bottle using a permanent marker, and then submit a photograph of the marked bottle to the provided email address. Proper disposal of the fuel bottles is essential and should be carried out in accordance with local and state regulations. Consumers are advised not to dispose of ethanol in sewers, rainwater pipes, or ordinary garbage cans, as this could cause fires or environmental pollution. For guidance on disposal, it is recommended to contact local hazardous waste treatment centers or inquire about professional recycling options through the environmental protection agency.
The recalled Wilteexs bioethanol fuel bottles were sold on Amazon between April 2025 and July 2025 for approximately $17 each. The bottles feature blue and white text on the front, including “WILTEEXS,” “BIO ETHANOL,” and an image of a burning flame. The identifying code “X004IQ9ZCH” is printed below the barcode on the back of each bottle. The product was imported by Hongyaodekejiyouxiangongsi, operating as online seller Wilteexs, based in China, and manufactured in China. As of the recall announcement, no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this product.
