In case you didn’t notice, our articles have all but disappeared from Google News. The last time one of our articles was published on Google News was mid-September. After a month of ranking low in search results because of recent changes in Google’s search engine and news feed, our website metrics have taken a sizeable hit. This affects our advertising revenue as well as the ability for us to keep the community informed.

Because of this, when you search on Google, our content can sometimes be overlooked in favor of mainstream or legacy news organizations. Fortunately we’ve identified how to fix that, but we need your help!

Did you know you can tell Google to show you more of the content you actually want to read?

Google’s “preferred sources” tool allows you to prioritize independent sources like Radio Free Hub City, ensuring our stories show up more often in the top of your Google Search results. As a result, you’ll also help us improve our Google rankings by more commonly clicking on Radio Free Hub City search results.

It only takes a moment to make sure you’re getting the news and local content you deserve without paywalls:

How to Prioritize Radio Free Hub City in Google:

  1. Click the Link Below: Visit your Google Source Preferences page using our specialized link. Note: You must be logged into your Google account for this to work.
  2. Check the Box: On the preferences page, look for Radio Free Hub City and simply check the box next to it.
  3. You’re Done! By checking this box, you have successfully told Google to prioritize content from RadioFreeHubCity.com.

Now, the next time you search for local or general news, you’ll be more likely to see the stories from your preferred source for free news content without paywalls!

Using Google’s Preferred Sources feature is the most direct way to ensure you see more content from Radio Free Hub City (RFHC) in your daily browsing. By adding RFHC as a preferred source, you instruct Google’s algorithm to prioritize our articles when you search for news-related topics, causing them to appear prominently in the “Top Stories” carousel and in a dedicated “From your sources” section right on the main Google Search results page. Crucially, because the “Top Stories” feature is driven by the overall quality and engagement signals Google uses for its News platform, this user-initiated increase in visibility and click-throughs directly tells Google that RFHC is a trusted, desirable news source, making it significantly more likely that our publication will be favored and included in your personalized feeds within the main Google News app and website.

Thank you so much for helping to support Radio Free Hub City!
