According to the CPSC, the KOOLDOO Bed Rails fail to meet federal safety requirements because they create dangerous openings. When installed next to a bed, these openings on the sides and top of the mattress can trap a child, posing a severe risk of suffocation or other fatal injuries. The agency has issued a Notice of Violation to Li Ling Lan, an Amazon seller operating under the name KOOLDOO, based in China. Despite requests from the CPSC, the firm has not responded to initiate a recall or provide any form of remedy for consumers who purchased the product.
Approximately 16,370 of these children’s portable bed rails were sold online through Amazon between August 2019 and June 2025. Consumers purchased the bed rails for around $70 each. It is possible that these hazardous items were also available from various other third-party sellers and on different online platforms. The KOOLDOO Bed Rails are characterized by a white metal frame covered in gray mesh fabric. The brand name “KOOLDOO” and the model number “B07T13ZXLZ” are visible on a white label stitched onto the fabric. These products were manufactured in China.
The CPSC strongly advises all consumers who own KOOLDOO Bed Rails to stop using them immediately. Consumers are directed to dispose of the product safely and are expressly warned against selling or giving away these hazardous bed rails. For those who have experienced a safety incident involving this product or believe they have a defective product, reporting is encouraged through the CPSC’s website at http://www.SaferProducts.gov. The CPSC is responsible for protecting the public from unreasonable risks associated with consumer products and works to ensure product safety across the nation.
