The deadline to register to vote or to update existing registration information, such as a name or address change, is October 20. Voters who have moved and have an outdated address on file after this deadline can still cast their ballot at their previous polling place for this upcoming election. At that location, they can request the necessary forms from the Judge of Election to update their information for future elections. Once the Franklin County Voter Registration Office processes these updates, a new voter registration card reflecting the new details and polling place will be mailed to the voter.
A specific polling location change has been announced for voters in the Metal 3 precinct. These voters will now cast their ballots at the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, located at 16950 Main St., Spring Run. Individuals whose voting precincts have been altered will receive a new voter registration card by mail prior to the election. For those voting in a newly assigned precinct for the first time, identification may be requested at the polling station. Acceptable forms of photo identification include a non-expired Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID, identification from any Commonwealth agency or the U.S. government, a U.S. passport, U.S. armed forces ID, a student ID, or an employee ID.
Voters without a photo ID can present alternative documentation that includes their name and address. This can be a voter registration card issued by the Voter Registration Office, non-photo identification from the Commonwealth or the U.S. government, a firearm permit, or current utility bills, bank statements, paychecks, or government checks. Residents with questions regarding their voter registration status can contact the Franklin County Voter Registration Office at 717-261-3886. For inquiries about polling places or the election itself, the Franklin County Election Board can be reached at 717-261-3812. Additional election information is also available on the county’s official website, http://www.franklincountypa.gov.
