Brenner Tank, LLC is initiating a voluntary safety recall for eight of its 2025-2026 model year TKQXFR tank trailers due to a defect that could lead to leaks of hazardous products. The issue stems from incorrectly specified valves that may corrode and fail, posing a risk of personal injury to individuals near the vehicle.

According to information submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected trailers were manufactured between December 27, 2024, and April 04, 2025. Engineering identified that the outlet and internal emergency valves on these specific trailers were not fully Teflon coated on the interior. This lack of proper coating makes the stainless steel discs of the valves susceptible to internal corrosion and damage when exposed to certain types of fluids.
The consequence of this defect is a potential leak condition. While a damaged valve may exhibit leakage around the butterfly shaft before complete failure, the release of hazardous products from either the internal or outlet valve could increase the risk of personal injury to those in the vicinity. The root cause of the defect has been identified as engineering specifying the incorrect valves for this particular application.
Brenner Tank has outlined a remedy for the affected trailers. Owners will have the internal and outlet valves replaced with new valves that feature Teflon-lined bodies and Teflon-coated discs. This replacement will be provided at no cost to the customer. The new remedy components will be internally Teflon-lined, and there will be no observable physical differences in their appearance or function compared to the recalled parts.
Production has already been corrected to prevent this issue from recurring. The engineering drawing was updated on August 16, 2025, to specify valves with internal Teflon coating for both the internal/emergency valve and the outlet valve.
The recall process is set to begin with owner notifications scheduled for November 8, 2025. Brenner Tank is not aware of any injuries associated with this condition. The company has a general reimbursement plan on file for any customers who may have incurred expenses related to this defect prior to the recall. The recalled components were manufactured by Ultraflow Corp, located in Sainte Genevieve, Montana.
Owners of potentially affected trailers are advised not to drive the vehicle and to park it outside. Further details on the recall and the VIN searchability for affected vehicles are expected to be made available in accordance with the planned remedy owner notification date.
